Here is my quick review of the weekend shows at LOD.

Friday-Great set. Joe is clearly the center piece of the songwriters in the raw set, and deservedly so. it's great to see him get the respect he deserves. Now on to the set itself. It was a real light hearted set. Joe D'urso introduced Joe as his "Pittsburgh Cousin". Joe played A Good Life, Beauty Fades, Too Hot , Wild Horses and led the finale with Light of Day. He also pitched in on the other artists songs as well. He and Willie Nile played well off one another. Joe added some vocals on Willie Nile's song, 'Saving my Semen for you". Yes, that's really the title. Joe's voice and playing sounded great as usual. Too Hot was one of the highlights for me. He made sure to say that it was not a true story. You could tell that Joe was really in a good mood and and was clearly having a good time. I think the boost he received from the NPR broadcast
really energized him. Always great to see Joe in this type of setting.

Saturday- What can I say, Joe and the boys left the Starland Ballroom a smoking hole in the ground! Everybody
played great! Joffo was on fire, Art and Bernie were clearly having a blast, Little Joe's vocals sounded smooth as silk and Danny's playing is, well, incredible. I had a lot of fun watching Danny play. He had a smile on his face from ear to ear the entire set. You could tell that his first LOD as a Houserocker was really special to him. My favorite tune of this set was 'A Good Life". It was my first time seeing it played live by the Houserockers and the fact that Bruce was there to sing his part just added to the experience. Joe is clearly in his element on stage with the Houserockers. It never stops amazing me to see these guys play together. They all seemed to truly enjoy being on stage together and that came across in the performance.

i could go on and on about the individual songs and how much I enjoyed each of them but it would just be repetitive. What i really want to get across to anyone reading this is the fact that it was very satisfying to see Joe and the band play in front of a large, energetic and appreciative audience. The fans in the audience that night were incredible. You could tell that they really respected the band and the music. They may have been excited to see their hometown hero on stage with Joe but they seemed, to me at least, to enjoy Joe and the Houserockers just as much. It was a great weekend for Joe. The NPR broadcast was a great success and that success just fed the energy for the rest of the weekend.

Thanks Joe!

Dear Mr. G. - I will be over with my skateboard wearing my dress this week. Look out for me. By the way, you're still gonna have to get your own coffee. And, I still don't know who that good-lookin' guy is that you're talking about. hahahehehahahahe

Back from Jersey. Almost too tired to write, but just wanted to say that may have been the best LOD show to date! Just one of those shows that keeps you smiling for a long time. Johnny, great acoustic set. Even with all the things thrown in there, you were a true professional. And Joe, what can we say that hasn't already been said? You truly are the best! We love working on the Light of Day Team.
Bob has so many people around him who genuinely care. Everyone did a hell of a job putting everything together. Had a blast with the girls...Lee and Desi. Although next time, Joe, leave the guitars in Jersey so we have more room in the car for our stuff. Can't wait for our next road trip.
P.S. - Joe, I'm saving my singin' for you
