I remember watching a Penguin game a few years back...they were playing the St. Louis Blues..in St. Louis. Between commercials, you could hear "Ain't Going Down" being played over the PA.
I thought "How cool is this?"

I enjoyed reading Jimmy and Hank's stories. Simple, but to the point.
Joe's music has touched many lives.

Usually Keith Kondrich is good at this but stealing a page from his book to get a couple of posts going....can you think of a Houserocker moment away from a show that made you smile or at least reflect on Joe and the boys.

I had one Saturday night. I was bummed that i had to miss LOD 7 this year as December just is not a good time to leave the state for me as work-related stuff is the dominant force.

So the next best thing than going to Jersey is to have some Jersey come to you. So I went to see Southside Johnny at the Cleveland Agora Saturday night.

I'm in the beer line and pondering how weird or ironic it is to be seeing SSJ in Ohio on the night of the big LOD bash. I also had word that Bruce would definitely be there and would be playing w/ Joe. My fondest moments of LOD have always been the interaction of Joe and Bruce on stage and knowing how proud i was to be a Houserocker fan. I'd look around and see that so many people were getting what we already knoew about our boys from the 'burgh.

Well i grab the beer and start heading inside the stage area for the first time as the warm-up band just finished. The Southside pre-music starts and lo and behold, i hear Never Be Enough Time.

It was kinda what i needed at the second too. I just took it all in and looked around and actually noticed some of the people mouthing the words just like me. It was a pretty cool moment and although not earth shattering by any means, to hear a Joe song played loud at a historic venue like that, gave me a little redemption, or at least a good smile and a pause to reflect on. Never Be Enough Time never sounded so good.

Here's my story..and I'm sticking to it!
Sometime over the summer, while having lunch with my 12 year old son, I ran into Joe (His Mom, and son, Johnny) at Irwin Eat-n-Park..After exchanging pleasantry's, I asked Joe how "the new CD" is coming along..."Jimmy, It's the best material I've ever written"..a subtle reply. I thought to myself..."Self, how could this be? There's "Rock-n-Real", "American Babylon", "Coming Home", "True Companion", "Fingerprints".." So many great records....Well, lo and behold, I have to admit...."A Good Life" IS, perhaps Joe's Best work to date. And, I still can't decide which track is my favorite....AGL gets my vote as the CD of the Year! Thanks, Joe...for all of the great music!

I just want to thank Joe and the Houserockers for a great set at LOD 7. You guys really rocked with Bruce and you did a great job of handling the "audible" curve balls during the set. See you all down the road.

Who are the chick musicians at LOD? The ones on J. Cavanaugh's web-site? Some nice eye-candy! Anyone?

Hey Jim and Steve
It was great seeing you at LOD. Thanks for the kind words and keep up the good work on the videos. You were right. I had a blast the entire weekend. Playing with Bruce was indeed one of the highlights of my career. I t was fun getting to know Bocci better (him and my daughter ripped on me all night Saturday because I spent 75.00 on cab fare in NYC to look at a hole in the ground...granted an important hole but still....long story!!) Dawne Allynne was great and is my daughter's new best bud. Emily loved the 'girl time' with LeeAnn, Desi and Jannie..thanks for keeping her safe during the night when things got nuts...she also wants to thank Jannie for the six cases of hair care products...I didn't ask. The crowd was amazing at the Starland. Whenever you have a crowd like that you can't help but have a good time. We played for almost 2 hours and when it was over I was like "what? we just started!!" I wish the crowds were like that everywhere. Not just in size but in enthusiasm and down in front right in your face.
I could go on and on but I'll stop here and just thank everyone again for making me feel so comfortable in the band and accepting me with open arms (even the off hand compliments like "I really like Billy but you're not bad")and Joe, the boys and the crew for a great experience and Bob B. who by the way looked great Saturday when I talked to him before the show. Also, Johnny..you kicked ass. Joe gotta be proud of you...I am.
Most importantly it's not too late to support Light of Day.

See you all soon!!
