Sammy....don't know who you are and i don't really give a damn either (don't think anyone else here does for that matter) but I wanted to say this....GET BENT, and I mean that sincerley. I would have sent this privately but your obviously not man enough to post with your e mail. If you want to sing Bill's praises go do it on his site. No one here has said anything negative about him, you know why? Because you don't have to say something negative about someone else when complimenting someone. You obviously 1) Have never heard Danny play or 2) have no idea what good guitar playing is.

I am going to have to say it's both.

Merry Christmas!

Ok guys. Peace on Earth and Good will toward men. I appreciate the compliments. I think Joe and I and the band are playing very well together. It just feels good. We listen to each other, play off of each other and it's nice to not have egos in a band to deal with and get in the way of the vision.
I've never been one to say that one musician is better than another. We all have something to say and if we can find our own voice to say it in...all the better. I mean how can you say that John Coltrane is better than Charlie Parker or that Eric Clapton is better than Jimmy Page? It's all our personal taste and we all take something different away from the music, right? That's what makes it magic.
Merry Christmas.

I'll second the motion that Danny is a great addition to the band, he blew me away at the Serb Club gig. But I thought the old songs sounded just fine in recent years...Danny does bring something different to the table-which is all good. Two different guitar players, each with their own styles-BOTH sounded and sound great in the context of the Houserockers.

Merry Christmas to Houserocker nation.

Best Houserocker gig of the year. Tie between the Serb Club picnic in Biddle and last week's Carhop's. The Boys have never sounded better. Hats off to them for rebounding from the loss of Bill Toms. Danny G has a more ICHR/ Eddie Britt feel to his sound and playing. The old songs haven't sounded this good in years . Joe G is playing more guitar and he is smokin'. The rhythm section is tighter than ever and Little Joe P has really been shining!! Great job guys.

Nice article by Scott Mervis in today's Post Gazette:

Pittsburgh music got outta town in 2006
A breakout year
Thursday, December 21, 2006
By Scott Mervis, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

This could have been the best year for Pittsburgh music nationally since the City of Champions days, when the Iron City Houserockers, The Silencers, Norm Nardini and Donnie Iris all had major label contracts.

JOE AND BILLY KEEP GOING AND GOING ...

Before it appeared on Joe Grushecky's new album, "A Good Life," the song "Code of Silence" had already won a performance Grammy for Bruce Springsteen. The new Grushecky CD found the hometown rocker and the Boss barking out the vocals together on the song they co-wrote a few years back. It led off a fine new album that revealed Grushecky as still passionate and fiery but also comfortable with where he is in life.

The Philadelphia Inquirer wrote, "The Pittsburgh rocker continues to walk it like he talks it." Grushecky capped off the year by being featured on NPR and performing with the Boss at the annual Light of Day concert in New Jersey.
