Here's a funny story about the IOTA last night. Two girls standing in the back of the club looking really uninterested during the opening act. I was standing there talking to my friend Richard from Richmond. I ask them if they were there to see Joe because they didn't look like they were having much fun. "Who?" one replied. "Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers" I said. "Who's that?" "Who are you hear to see?" "Last Train Home." "You're a week early. They're here next weekend." "Really?" "Yea. But you'll like Joe. You won't be disappointed." "What' does he sound like?" "He's great. Solid songwriting, tight band. Awsome guitar player" (they didn't know I was in the band). "I think we're going to leave." "Well, what does Last Train Home sound like?" "I don't know." the one said. "We never saw them." "Ok." Then check Joe out. You might be surprised." "No. We never saw him before." and they left. Silly, huh?

No setlist here either but I got Comin' Home.....thank you Joe! Iota ALWAYS rocks! Relatively small crowd but blame that on the Easter Bunny. I have some wonderful pictures (before the battery died on my camera. Joe, tell me where to send them....there are several that are post worthy. See you back here in July!!

top 5 from End of The Century- 1 Dont Give Up The Ghost 2 End of The Century 3 Talking to the King 4 Love To Blame 5 Silence of Your Arms sorry Jeff & Karen, but I wouldn't want to see any covers on an 'Essentials'. Joe's own writing is too strong. All the best to the lucky folks going to the Iota tonight.

"Anyone going to Virginia this weekend? I hear the houserockers do well down there" You bet. Wouldn't miss it. Iota is a very small club (that's why it's called Iota LOL) but it's the BEST place to see/hear live music in the entire DC metro area (in my opinion anyway). See ya Saturday!

Hi, Joe.... Don't know if you're getting these messages or emails, but I gotta small request. I'm visiting DC this weekend and am going to the show at the Iota Clubwith my sons and some of their friends. Sean, My oldest, is bringing his fiancee, Denise, a Houserocker neophyte. The boys love your stuffm but she's new to it. Even though we've palyed your stuff and have jammed together with the tab you sent me a couple of times, she's REALLY gotta hear you and the fellas. So, would you be so kind as to play and dedicate "Is She the One?" for Sean and Denise? Can't wait to see and hear you ... Steve from Cleveland. So

Regarding the "Essentials"; 1) Talking To The King (perhaps my favorite song by Joe, period. Although I'd love to see the Live version from Down The Road make it instead!) 2) The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter (Like to see this song added back to the live set) 3) End Of The Century (True, eerie and cool all at once) 4) No Man's Land (Love the horns!) 5) Oh, Kathleen (Just a great song) What agreat CD! I remember attending the release party at Nick's. What a great show that was!
