I agreed with Gena when her and Mark were having a verbal battle over End of the Century, however, she is dead-wrong with her assessment of "One Chance"...another true classic. I hope Joe decides to shake the dust off of this great HR tune.

Any details on "One chance?" Is it on an album? The last time that I heard the guys play it was on May 2005 at the "Hard Rock..."

When Brian first sent me the MP3 to learn One Chance I thought, Man, this is a rock 'n' roll song! Why isn't this in the set? It's up there with Pumpin' Iron in my opinion. I can't wait to add some slide guitar to this. Gena, sorry you don't like it but man, this song kicks some ass that reminds me of when I first saw the HR's in the late 70's.
See y'all at Carhop's

Glad you can make the show Jeff and Karen but please, no Rebel Music or One Chance... I can't bear either of those tunes. How about the Other Shoe from AGL??

Well it's been about 6 or 7 months since our last Houserockers show, but we're finally going to make it next week for our first glimpse of the "Decade of the South Hills" as Danny puts it and we're extremely pumped! It sounds like the recent shows have been just great and we know we won't be disappointed. Actually, I don't recall ever being disappointed by Joe in the last 27 years (since way back at the real Decade in 1980)! Anyway, now it's request time. Hideaway and Beauty Fades (for Karen), Talking to the King, Rebel Music, A Good Life and Love So Tough for me. And the icing on the cake would be One Chance (as Danny hinted the guys have been rehearsing again). That would really get me into a "Decade state of mind"! Can't wait, see "yinz" there!

No. I don't know her. Although Gochnour is a pretty unique name. Thanks for asking.

Maybe I'll hold off on the tribute song--the lyric was probably enough. Sometimes my enthusiasm goes a bit over the top.

Hey, DannyG: do you know a Mary Gochenour from the Columbus area? Just wondering, because you have a very similar last name. I worked with her at the Dayton VAMC during my recent time spent in Ohio (9/01-6/06).

Go Steelers! Anybody entered the 'Name The Mascot' contest? My mom and stepdad, who live in Bridgeville, told me about it, and I've been entering names via the KDKA website. Hines, in the Post-Gazette, said he thought Bill Cowher was maybe inside the brand new mascot when he first saw him, all square-jawed and rough and ready, ya know. Hines is a hoot.

Gena, after hearing a few of Joe's songs on this site and viewing a few of Joe's videos on Youtube, I can't wait until "A Good Life" arrives in the mail.

Thanks for your comment about the Joe/HR tribute lyric. I'll ask my melody-literate co-writer to do a little demo and then offer it free to anyone who wants to download it--if that's OK with Joe. I'm not here to push CD's, but I would like to share my enthusiasm for Joe & The Houserockers' music with one little ditty.

Keith. Great seeing you. Thanks for the kind words. When someone appreciates what you do...THAT makes all the difference in the world and makes it all worthwhile. Thanks again.

Next Saturday is Carhops. Th Decade of the South Hills.

Zeke's younger son dancing to "Safe at Home" = PRICELESS!!
