One more request for Saturday; Fingerprints was accidentally left off our previous "setlist" of requests. I guess one more won't hurt. It's such a great song with lyrics that definitely make you think of those that have passed in and out of your life over the years. Sorry Gena, but I can't wait to hear One Chance again! Really looking forward to a great show at what sounds like a pretty cool place to see the band!

So glad to see Joe and the Houserockers are coming to my hometown of Ligonier on July 6! For those of you coming out from the city (and places beyond) for the performance that may need overnight accommodations, here are a few recommendations. The Ligonier Ramada (724.238.9545), the Colonial House on Main B&B; (724.238.6804) and the Campbell House Bed & Breakfast (724.238.9812)are all in walking distance of the Ligonier Tavern. And, just down the road apiece (about 3 miles), you'll find the charming Ligonier Country Inn (724.238.3651) If you are looking for dinner before the show, the Tavern has great food, as does Ivy's, Ursula's, and Jioio's Italian Restaurant (all in walking distance of the Tavern). For those who hunt or like exotic animals - you MUST stop at Joe's Bar, across the street from the Tavern. We have a great small town and look forward to welcoming Joe, the band, and all the loyal fans to Ligonier!

WYEP played "Never Be Enough Time" yesterday afternoon. What a great song!...good to know local radio recognizes it also.

Sinatra did that too. He re-cut many many of his songs for reprise cause the owner of the label wanted him to. We really had a great time at the Hard Rock. The service was just great and the show was too. As always, the Hard Rock has issues with the sound, but you take the good with the bad. Yes the 20 month old did point to the stage and say "joe guitar" and mosh to the slow songs, he's terrified of harmonicas. No more chain smoking in Pittsburgh. Wonder what Carhops will be like? At the Rex, after they oulawed smoking, all I could smell was mold. I'm hoping for what did you do in the war for Sat. Oh, and One Chance is a song I remember clearly from my first HRer show in 15 or so years ago. That and Pumpin Iron, and Gimmee Shelter.

Just an idea about the upcoming compilation disc: I'll guess that songs from Rock'n'Real and Swimming with the Sharks are currently not being considered due to contractural issues with the label, Rounder. If that is the case, has any thought been given to re-recording a few of these songs for the compilation disc? (I'm guessing this would be legal -- wouldn't Rounder own those specific performances from the original CDs, but Joe would own the songs themselves, and thus could re-record them at will?) I believe this was already done with How Long on the live disc. Re-recording in the studio would get some of these great Joe tracks -- Rock and Real; Rebel Music (sorry Gina) ;-) and Unsafe at Any Speed, among others) onto that compilation disc, making it a true post-ICHR collection. It also would give everyone a chance to finally hear studio versions of these songs that approximate their live power, as opposed to the murky and muffled sound that plagued Rock'n'Real. And it would give Joe a chance to showcase the new lineup in the studio. Hey, when faced with uncooperative labels, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, and Chuck Berry just cut new versions of their hits. Why shouldn't Joe have the same option?

I knew my statements would get some conversations going and I also knew I was in the minority about this tune and I'm ok with that. I just don't feel anything for it at all, in fact my friends and I usually take a bathroom break on this one ;-) But that's the beauty of music, everyone likes something different. And Joe does play this one because it's a 'fan' favorite. Just not mine. Danny G, I don't find anything at all in the song to remind me of the 70's Joe bands. Back then it was all about rebellion, anger, passion and lust even the blues, if you will. I also see no comparision to 'Pump'n'Iron' a timeless classic. I'm sure you will add a lot to 'One Chance' with your guitar ability and your passion for the song. But I don't see it. Possibly because as much as I love loud guitars I also love great lyrics. I was not singling Mark out about End of the Century, as there are many others on the board who find this to be their favorite CD, in fact I believe Keith has mentioned this many times. And Keith you consider it one of the quintessential rock'n'roll tunes of all time? Really? What would the others be if you don't mind me asking? You're kind of scaring me a bit. I know it's a little off topic but it's fun to chat about.

I agree that “One Chance” is one of the quintessential rock-and-roll songs of all time! Played live, nothing beats it – which is probably why we’ve never seen a studio version of this song! The other classic I wish Joe would dust off is “Freedom’s Hall” from Rock & Real. This song is incredible live! Joe used to extend the studio version with a 3-4 minute blazing guitar solo live that tore down the house! It was (and continues to be) always my favorite live song! Please consider bringing it back some day soon!

BTW...speaking of End of the Century, let's not forget about Lighten Up. Haven't heard that one played live in quite a while.
