I read in today's Asbury Park Press that the Writers In The Raw series will be resuming (see link on Web Page Address line). Joe's appearance in Writers In The Raw last summer was terrific - I hope ... well you know.

Mark,
Yes I do have a copy. I dug it out and digitized it last night. It is not the best sounding boot but it is Kool just as a document of that era. It is an audience recording that some friends and I made at a bar called the “Winner Circle”. If I remember correctly “The Winner Circle” was in Betel Park on route 88. I think it was recorded around Thanksgiving of 1985. The set list is very cover heavy but there are also some Joe classics we all know and love and some you may have forgotten about.

Shit no, don't worry about it. Live With Me would be awesome too. Hearing Art tear into that opening bass line would be cool. You have that on a boot?

Mark My apologies I was incorrect about the Brick Ally band doing “Stray Cat Blues”. I dug out my old set list and the song I was thinking about was “Live With Me”. Both of those songs are on “Get your YA YAs Out” and I got them confused.

Zeke my boy...newer stuff? That Mellencamp and Stones stuff you mentioned is getting a bit long in the tooth to be called "new?" But great selections nonetheless! Back in, umm...94 I think (at Fat City maybe? Memory is a little blurry and I was a bit off. Still with the ex ya know?). Anyway, I think I saw the one and only time Joe and the boys did "Sympathy for the Devil." Anyone else remember this? Great stuff. And since Zeke mentioned Johnny Cash, why not do "I Walk the Line."

I think I've heard them do Zevon, but I'm not sure. I'd love to hear one way out!
While I'd be fine if total shows had no covers, how about covering some "newer" stuff. It worked well for Johnny Cash.
Ryan Adams - Firecracker Wallflowers - One Headlight Tom Breiding - Dynamite Truck John Mellencamp - Martha Say or Love and Happiness Bob Dylan - Love Sick or Honest With Me Rolling Stones - The Worst
Just to name a few. Bye the way, how great would that be in the Live 8 thing happened?

Wow!! They really did Stray Cat? When and where was that???? That'd be a great boot to have. As for the Stones, if they covered a HR tune, I'd like to hear Turn it Up, or Touch the Rain.

I have hear Joe G and the Brick ally Band do both Stray cat Blues and 96 Tears. They are both great suggestions.
