WYEP does a thing each morning after the 8AM news called the 'traffic jam'. They play three songs from a featured artist and none other that Joe G and the HRers were played today. I was pleasantly surprised at the first of their song selections.

Please lend your support to the station for their new facility as they do play and support the local music scene featuring Joe, Bill Deasy, The Clarks, New Invisible Joy, Soda Jerk and many other local bands. The new Bill Deasy will be the featured CD of the week starting on Monday. You can stream the station at www.wyep.org or listen (here in Pgh) at 91.3 on your dial.

Here is what they played:
I'm Not Sleeping (when was the last time you heard this tune)

Shot Of Salvation (this one sounds SO good on the radio)

Chain Smoking

And don't forget they featured the HRers live when 'True Companion' was first released.

They also plugged the South Park Show.

Hey Joe G and the Houserockers,
Just moved out to California. The hubby and I split up and I went out west with the rugrats. Need to be near my family not to mention mild winters, no snow and lots of sunshine. Oh and a better paying job. Good social workers are hard to find. Want to let you know that I will really miss seeing you at the shows. And really, really sad after seeing Septembers line up at the Pony. Hope to catch you back east again when I come to visit or maybe you can come out to the left coast. You might find you have some fans out here. Anyway see you down the road a piece.

Here is my recent journal entry.
Hi Had a great time playing at the Serbian Club. Brought back a lot of memories. I used to run around the picnics when i was a kid picking up bottles (pre plastic era) in return for free pop as we say here in the hills of Pennsylvania. Everyone from the club was thrilled by the audiences enthusiasm and generosity. My aunt is going to rush to money down to the tax office today to keep open. As Chip said, “sort of like the Blues Brothers’s movie.” In a ya shoulda been there moment, overcome by the spirit of Serbian picnics past, the Houserockers broke into their very first polka ever, theold chestnut “Just Because” (covered by Elvis at Sun Studios by the way.) Of course our resident Funk Brother, Jeffrey AKA “Joffo” Simmons had no friggin’ idea what a Polka was. We had to go to the bullpen for some Bernie Herr relief. Cousin John Naretto (vocals) and good friend accordion player extrodanaire George Klipa (keyboards) gave us some able bodied help. Loose I think would be a kind word to describe it. Very loose. In fact, the whole show was one of our loosest. I mean in a good way of course. Thank You so much for your help and generous spirit. Joe G

Ditto! Last night was a blast for me! Everyone was having a good time dancing and singing. It's kinda hard to film while your trying to sing and dance along! I almost got trampled by crazy dancers several times!! Watching Joe and his family, including his mom on stage singing together was really cool! Glad I got it on tape.

Had such a good time in Biddle last night, didn't get to write the setlist, but we did get "Biddle Mine" and I was really excited to hear "Little Marie" Other songs included were "Oh Carol", "Swimmin' with the Sharks", "Lucky Man", "Fingerprints","Hideaway","Talkin' to the King", "Jr.'s Bar", "Pumpin' Iron", "I Can't Take It Anymore", and what you will only get away with in Biddle- a polka.
Everyone danced (and everyone drank) and everyone had a blast!
If anyone remembers other songs please add them.
