Joe -
Posted this earlier but it got deleted from the guestbook. Lake Pontchartrain is an unbelievably powerful song that once again demonstrates your gift as a musician & songwriter! Although, you better be careful or the old Guestbook may start getting political again!
Thank you for sharing this poignant song with us. Your are one of the few poets of our times!

Just back from Springsteen's American Red Cross benefit in Asbury Park. The show opener: IDIOT'S DELIGHT ! I've always been very fond of this co-write, so as you can imagine, it made my night. I believe that is the first time Bruce has performed it without the Houserockers (?).

This should be coming out as an email newsletter soon -
Hi everyone Thanks for all the great gigs this summer. How ‘bout them Houserockers??? The boys are playing better than ever.We have been having some issues with the guestbook. I appreciate your patience. I look forward to reading your comments. My father watched the news everynight and raged about injusticeand crooked politicians. I could feel his presence as I watched the images of our countrymen in harm’s way in Louisiana. The internet has made the world a whole lot smaller. I was able to get the guys together and record a brand new song, “Lake Pontchartrain.” The great thing is, that because of the internet I can get it to you ASAP. So. please go to the website and download ‘Lake Pontchartrain” We will also repost the outakes from “Down The Road Apiece” which include “One Chance Is All You Get.” Please come to my acoustic solo show at Cefalo’s on Thursday nite. I am hosting another Songwriters in the Round on Oct.12 with Carol Lee Espy , Margo B, and a TBA. The Uptown Theatre in Washington Pa is on the 15th and Carhops on the 29th. Thanks to everyone who supported the Serbian Club show. We were able to save the club and play our first ever Polka on the same day!!! We are playing The Blue Bayou Concert at Hartwood Acres on Sunday. Tentative schedule for the concert (subject to change) is as follows: 3:15 - 3:45: Mon Gumbo 3:55 - 4:25: Jill West & Blues Attack 4:35 - 5:05: Glenn Pavone & the Cyclones 5:15 - 5:45: The Gospel Lights 5:55 - 6:25: Joe Grushecky & the Houserockers 6:35 - 8:05: Billy Price Band featuring Otis Clay, finale Attendees are encouraged to bring picnics, chairs, and blankets. Although there is no charge for attending the concert, Price hopes that the concert will motivate those who attend to donate generously to the Salvation Army. "If everyone who attends the concert donates what he or she thinks a ticket to the concert would be worth," says Price, "I think we'll raise a lot of money to help people."
Thanks Love, Peace, Soul, and Rock and Roll Joe G
