How about "We're Not Dead Yet"? That might shake things up a little! I always thought that would be a cool song to play at Steelers or Penguins games if they were starting to mount a comeback in a game in which they fall behind early. (It would sure be getting lots of "airplay" this season!) Wouldn't it be cool to hear about 65,000 fans singing the "woh-ho-ho-ho-ho" part after a touchdown or a goal? But seriously, I think anything Joe would come up with for such a thing would go underappreciated by the majority of the people anyway (as usual)!

F*@k this! Maybe the original Vogues could reunite and redo "Five O Clock World" as Pittsburgh's "Official Song." Yippee! Rock and roll should be as far away as possible from this type of project. Did Lou Reed write the offical NYC theme song??? Hell no!! He wrote "Dirty Blvd" instead. God bless him. Please Joe, run from this.now!!!

My God, penning the official "theme song" for the city seems like one of the tackiest things the band could do. Or anyone. Leave that up to some marketing genius or jingle writer.

On the DVE Electric Lunch today, Michele Michaels was promoting the DVE Christmas Morning Show next Thursday the 15th at the Hard Rock Cafe (7PM, Joe!). She said Joe was performing at the show and it was appropriate because Joe is a "Jolly Old Soul"!!!

Don't know if you read Joe's comments in the paper, but suffice it to say, he does not favor being commisioned to write a burgh song. this is a tough call for me. Surely someone from Pittsburgh has written a song about it. They asked Joe about Pumpin Iron. hmmmmm

Since Joe G. & The HR's are unequivocally Pittsburgh's Greatest Band, I think they should be chosen the pen the "Pittsburgh Song". 2008 should be ample time to write, record and produce this local anthem.

Poll If Pittsburgh has a city song, what should it be or who should write it? (KDKA) PITTSBURGH Pittsburgh has a very colorful history… and now some people want a theme song for the city. Our news partners at The Post Gazette report that cities like Atlanta are identifying themselves with a branded song. So, should Pittsburgh do something similar to celebrate the city’s 250th anniversary in 2008. A representative from the Greater Pittsburgh Convention and Visitors Bureau says they're not planning on doing a song. However, some city leaders are suggesting songs such as Sister Sledge’s “We Are Family” or Andy Williams’ “Moon River”. Others are saying a local rockers like Joe Grushecky, the Clarks, or Donnie iris should pen a Pittsburgh song. If you have an idea for the genre of music the song could be, vote in our poll above.
