Hey, if ACDC and Van Halen are too scary, lets’ go back to roots and shake rattle and roll… “ I’ve Got a Woman” Ray Charles… “One Bad Stud” The Honey Bears… “BuzzBuzzBuzz” The Hollywood Flames… and my favorite, “ Have Mercy Baby.” The Dominoes… Listen to Southside, or Bruce when they’re having fun! These songs have definitely influenced them. These may sound archaic but the Houserockers would rock covering any one of these… PS I saw John Edie last night. Joe and Eddie should consider an unplugged.

My favorite bands/musicians include The BoDeans (great new live album just released!), Elliot Murphy, The Del Lords, The Wallflowers, Van Morrison, Tom Petty, Kathleen Edwards, Dashboard Confessional, John Hiatt, Bill Deasy, Norman Nardini, The Tragically Hip, and Fleetwood Mac. I am also very sorry to mix genres, however, I am a huge Van Halen fan and (sorry Bill) have seen Kansas live more than any other band with the exception of the Houserockers. Maybe Joe and the band could cover "Carry On My Wayward Son" some day!

Before everyone FREAKS!!! Since we’re on the subject of Joe and the band covering… How about “Whole Lotta Rosie” by AC DC??? If Joe tinkers a bit, and brings in the harmonica, then Bill would tear it up with a hot riff, WHEW!!! It would be a great encore song that would, with out sounding cliché, bring the house down….

Outside of my Big Three (Houserockers, Clash and Dylan), I am mostly a fan of roots rockers and ornery Texas singer-songwriters: Joe Ely, Steve Earle, Dave Alvin -- you know, the ex-Blaster whom I'm personally pushing to produce Joe's next record ;-) -- plus Billy Joe Shaver, Guy Clark, and the only band on earth that can burn down bars with the same intensity of the Houserockers, the Waco Brothers. (Dunno 'em? Start with their Cowboy in Flames CD -- it's Clash meets Johnny Cash.) Hey Jeff -- if you dig Hiatt (and so do I), you should go to that Valentine's Day concert at Carnegie Music Hall -- it's Hiatt, Lyle Lovett, Guy Clark and Joe Ely, onstage with just their guitars and their songs. It should be great.

As an avid Pink Floyd AND Houserocker fan, I just believe that the Hourserockers are more of a "back-beat" rock-n-roll style versus the cerebral style Pink floyd presents. Not a good fit for Joe and The boys.

Sorry about all the YELLING in previous posts. Karen says I talk loud because my hearing is bad (too many times standing next to the speakers at The Decade, I guess). Anyways I guess I type loudly, too! I have to agree about Floyd, though. If I want to hear Pink Floyd, all I gotta do is tune into DVE or NCX (in Cleveland) and get my hourly dose. They're good at what they do, I'm just tired of being spoonfed so much of them over the years that I really think I'd have to leave (at least for a while) if Joe started playing one of their songs. Although, wasn't Sid Barret the founder of Pink Floyd? (Maybe "Sid B." has a good reason for wanting to hear some, if you think about it)! All this talk about The Clash and Pink Floyd makes me wonder what other Houserocker fans listen to (when they're not listening to Joe, of course)! Any John Hiatt fans out there?
