Thanks Danny for posting about Paul Shook, needless to say I was shocked. I too, used to see Norm around the same time I saw the ICHR and admired him as a guitarist. There's a great photo of him that someone posted on the Post Gazette guestbook. Too young...

I got away from posting the funny stories that happen at gigs. For weeks Joe has been asking me to play this little line during the third verse of Fingerprints. Everytime the verse comes up I'm distracted or not paying attention or I just forget to do it. Friday at Mellon Square was no exception. After the show Joe says, "What's it going to take for you to play that line?"
"Twenty Five bucks." I say
"Next time we play that song if you don't play the line I'm stopping the song and we're starting over."
Well last night I did it. Joe and I both started laughing during the song.
You owe me $25 pal!
On a sad note, Art informed me yesterday that Paul Shook, an old friend and fellow musician, passed away.
I remember seeing Paul play with Norm Nardini and the Tigers at the same time I used to first go and see Joe Grushecky and the Iron City Houserockers tear up the Decade in the late 70's. I didn't know Paul all that well...just enough to say hi to, but he had an impact on my early playing. My deepest sympathies to his family.

Just saw you today downtown at the lunchtime show. Made my day. You are a true Pittsburgh gem. Loved Beauty Fades. Could really relate to that song. A great songwriter who writes about real life and makes music for grownups. And you ROCK!!!! Hope to catch you in Jersey on the 7th.
