How come there's no buzz on the up coming Jersey trip? This weekend will be Joe and the Houserockers first visit to the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park. Johnny played there last year and I hear it's got a great vibe. It's right on the ocean. I'm really excited about going, meeting Andy Fuchs and his wife for dinner, hanging with Alex Scuby, one of the stars from King of Queens whose band the Alex Scuby Project will be opening. It's shaping up to be a great weekend. Ligoneer Tavern is Friday then off to the Shore!!!

Thanks! Great clip. Gatemouth was a legend. I didn't listen to him a lot. Only enough to learn some of his songs and soak up some of his vibe. He's got an unusual finger-pickin' style that not a lot of guys use. Jeff Beck and Mark Knoppler are other players that use only their fingers but in a different way. The guitar is an amazing instrument in the fact that there are so many ways to play it.

Great weekend of shows. Shadyside was rockin!! TresLads opened and sounded amazing. I haven't seen John Marks from Grapevine in years. I love that guy. Great voice and great guy. Thanks guys!!

i saw gatemouth a few times. he was a great, natural player. his pipe/set breaks were really cool because you could go talk with him. nice, even tempered guy with a quick grin. he'd talk a little with ya & you knew he was listening. we miss ya, gate.

I know you're joking and I would never collect money from Joe regarding songs...other than the $3 he owes me from having to download songs I had to learn from iTunes.
Friday and Saturday should be a great weekend of Rock and Roll. Friday is an outdoor show at the Boardwalk in the Strip and Saturday is the Shadyside Street Fair...I hope they remember to bring a stage this year.
Joe just lent me the Joe Bonamassa Live at Budapest DVD. I have all of Joe's recordings. He never comes close on record to playing the way he does live. This kid is an amazing Blues player that takes it above and beyond the standard Blues format. Think Eric Johnson, Jeff Beck, BB King and Eric Clapton rolled into one great guitar player. He's one of my favorite newer guitarists. Check him out! (He's also a fellow Fuchs endorsee, too)
