Agreed on the politics thing 100% Mark. Joe's music sparks those thoughts in everyone and a little political banter is great. I just wanted to make sure that people don't forget why they are talking about it here, that's all.

As far as good memories to share I had one this weekend. Without giving away too much we interviewed Joe and Dominic Daslivio this weekend. I had never met Dom prior to this and wasn't sure what to expect. I have to say he is probably one of the funniest most unique people I have ever met in my life. I haven't laughed so hard in years. It was great!!

I always love the Carhops shows...loose, fun, and exciting. Makes for a great night. On another note, Steve, I too think that the music should be first and foremost. The thing is, with an artist like Joe, the politics is inherent in a lot of his music. Not all of it, but some. So if political discussion abounds, I think it's ok. I think the main thing is, regardless of where you stand on the political end, support the artist. Get out to the shows, talk to these guys..whether it's Joe, Bill Toms, etc. They're accessible. I've talked to Joe at Carhops, talked to Bill COUNTLESS times. Support them, go to the shows. If you can't always make the shows (and I know, it's tough for me sometimes), turn other people onto the music, buy the stuff that comes out, weigh in on the guestbook...whatever. You do any of that, I'll agree to disagree with you on the politics. I have plenty of "right winger" friends that I hang with at shows.
And the film you're producing sounds great Steve...any memorable scenes you care to share?

I'd love to see Joe play more, however, I'm on house arrest for a DUI!

The Recluse
Steve is 100% right..Joe and the band rocked thier nuts off...despite the small crowd,...but I must say that to stay locked up in the house in fear of getting a DUI is a pretty sad thought. They have a resolution to that though...it's called having a good time without getting sloshed!

Small Crowds?
I think most of Joe's fans are in their 40's & 50's with families and careers, which makes it difficult to get out as much as they used to. Also, let's not forget about the DUI factor.

I was at Carhops on Saturday and Joe, as usual put on an outstanding show. I was particularly impressed with how strong his voice sounded. I didn't keep a set list but some highlights were:

Alright Now- Joe on vocals. Sounded great. Joe called it a singing in the shower song but said he'd give it a shot.

Dance with Me- Song sounds great with a three piece.

I'm Lucky
Fire
Tupelo Honey: Sounded Great! Love this song!
Mystery Train-ROCKED
I Don't Wanna Go Home
Dirty Water
Got Love if you Want It

Joe's guitar playing was top notch. Jeff garrison did a quick but ass kicking bass solo when Joe introduced him. Those two have great chemistry and are fun to watch.

One question I have is where the hell are Joe's fans? I have been to Carhops twice in the past month or so and the crowds have been WAY too small. You wouldn't know it by the way Joe played though because he is a true professional. Don't mean to piss anyone off but the political stuff, while intreresting reading, should be secondary to the music. With a new CD coming out that is, in my opinion, his best work there should be some excitement about that.

One last thing. I have been tight lipped about this but I think it's time to let the cat out of the bag. For the past year we have been working on a full length film about Joe's life. We hope to have it finished before the end of the year. This is a very special project for me and I only hope we do Joe's story justice. There will be more updates on this project coming soon. Can't get into too many details here but it will cover Joe's life from the mid 70s till now. Joe asked methe other day what I had in mind for the ending of the film and I told him that it's yet to be written. I hope that with the new CD coming and a full summer ahead I expect that a very special ending will write itself.

I love the political footbal. I think this is better than no one posting for days on end, for sure.

I have to say, while no Bush fan me - I agree with him 100% on his speech tonight on imigration. I hope the Democrats support him. I'm pretty sure the house republicans won't.

Anyone get a set list from Carhops? If not atleast a report?
