I agree with Jeff&Karen; - I couldn't live without Rock & Real, however, if forced to choose from EOC on, my picks for an "essentials" CD would be:

Everything's Going To Work Out Right
Talking To The King
American Babylon
You And Tonight
Dark And Bloody Ground
What Did You Do In The War
That's All I Want From You
Don't Give Up The Ghost
Oh Kathleen
Fingerprints
True Companion
Never Be Enough Time
The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter
No Man's Land
Idiot's Delight
No Strings Attached

How about a Volume 1 (anything before EOC) and a Volume 2 (EOC onward)?

Nameless person, Blood on the Bricks is from way before End of the Century. Bob asked for songs from EOTC - current. I will think of some and post soon.

Btw no offense to Keith who I have a great respect for, End of the Century is my LEAST favorite Joe CD ;-) I never play it, even though I love 'Don't Give Up the Ghost'.

Steve, the videos are fantastic! Thanks much. The guitarist from Spain is outstanding on 'Only Lovers Left Alive', thanks for naming him Katherine. Wondering if that was rehearsed or if he is just a Joe G fan? Playing a lead like that on an acoustic is not an easy task.

Concert photographer John Cavanaugh announces Rocktgraphy, a new photo exhibition featuring a vast sampling of Cavanaugh’s concert photography from the past 15 years accompanied by The Asbury Park Music Storytellers Series highlighting some of the communities most prominent independent singer/songwriters. Named for Cavanaugh’s online gallery, Rocktography.info, the exhibition will run from June 3rd through September 30, 2006 at Red Fusion Bistro / Bar, 662 Cookman Avenue, Asbury Park, New Jersey. The Gallery will be open from 11:30am until Closing Everyday.

Rocktography originally debuted in July of 2002 in Sulli Studios, the historic old Asbury Park Press building. Shortly thereafter Stone Pony Management joined forces with Cavanaugh to host special events and artist meet & greet sessions greatly complimenting the musical theme of the photographs on display. In June 2003, Rocktography relocated and opened for daily viewings with a brand new exhibit at the Stage Door Canteen on Cookman Avenue in Downtown Asbury Park. A stage and patron seating area was added creating an intimate performance setting within the second floor Mezzanine for ticket holders to view the debut Storytellers series of performances.
Some of the artists already slated to perform at the 2006 Storytellers Series include Bob Burger, Vini Lopez & Sonny Kenn, Bill Toms and Joe D’Urso,

Cavanaugh, who has been behind the lens to document the rock-n-roll histrionics that have occurred on the New Jersey Shore over the past fifteen years is the official photographer for local music institutions The Stone Pony night club and the Light of Day and Writers In The Raw concert series. His internationally renowned photography have been published in a number of tri-state area newspapers including The Star Ledger, the Asbury Park Press, and the New York Times; Rolling Stone and Backstreets magazines, as well as other respected national and European publications. His photos are complementary and their availability to the public has been encouraged by the subject artists.

Cavanaugh’s website, Rocktography.info boasts exciting galleries of live concert photos, links to the many artist sites that feature John's work, plus press clippings, credits and other memories of the legends and moments captured by his camera.

OK, my 2 cents again! Here are 20 songs to be played in the “IDEAL” show…
There is legislation being written in PA right now that states Frankie’s song, “Dance With Me” must be the first song played by Joe and the guys when ever they play in PA. New Jersey will be working on the same bill…

Dance With Me
A Long Way to Go
Talking to the King
Idiot’s Delight
Fingerprints
School Day
Love So Tough
Blondie
No Strings Attached
Pumping Iron
Never Enough Time
………………………..

Veronica
Strange Days
Chain Smokin’
Hideaway
Junior’s Bar
Have a Good Time
Rebel Music
One Chance
Down the Road Apiece

First off, I just ordered my 5-Alive DVD, when do I get it? Next, I will weigh in on my choices for an "Essential Joe" CD. (I don't know why we can't pick from "Rock and Real" or "Swimming With The Sharks", but we'll follow the rules.

Fingerprints
I Won't Let My Spirit Fall
I Remember It
Talking to The King (live)
Heart Is a Lonely Hunter
Chain Smokin'
Labor Of Love
No Strings Attached
Everything's Going To Work Out Right
Touch The Rain
It's A Hell Of A Life
Long Way To Go
Strange Days
Never Be Enough Time (Yes, the original IS better-no "ass kissing" here!)
Pumpin' Iron (live)
Dance With Me (live)

When does the ESSENTIAL JOE (all songs remastered of course, or maybe in 5.1 Surround Sound!) come out? Can we order it today? Great idea!

I would've included "Never Be Enough Time" from American Babylon, but I like the original version better.
