I wrote this song for me and Joe, but the italian part is different. I will try to translate: Ho visto l'agonia al potere (I saw the agony rules) ho udito il suo lamento (i heard her moan) ho chiuso gli occhi ed ho sperato fino all'ultimo momento (i closed my eyes and i hoped until the end) ho visto sogni lacerati in polvere e destino (i saw dreams torn in dust and destiny) e croci avvolte dal dolore negli occhi di un bambino (and crosses wraped up in pain in the eyes of a child) ho visto un giro d'orologio e il corso della storia (i saw the turn of a clock and the course of the history)distendersi sulle rovine le macerie della gloria (lay down on the ruins the the collapse of glory) ho visto il sole farsi nero gridare di terrore (i saw the sun turn black shoutin' for terror) e un corvo in volo sul confine dell'odio e dell'amore (and a raven flying on the line of love and hate). My apologises for my uncorrect english, but thank you so much Joe!!!!

In answer to Keith's questions: My Italian is about as good as yours so I don't know if I am shadowing Lucas' lyrics or what. We recorded via long distance. I will try to get him to post some info. The cd is very good and I dig the fact that it is done in Italian.

Joe - Just listened to "The Line of Love & Hate" that you recorded with Del Sangre. Very cool and powerful (as always). My Italian is a little "rusty" (ok, nonexistent!). Can you give us a translation of the Italian lyrics? (or are you just repeating them all in English?) Also, if I wanted to add this CD to my "Grushecky Shrine" where could I purchase it? I couldn't find a website for the band. Thanks and keep 'em coming!

Since The Houserockers are off this Friday, I thought that I'd let you know that Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes will be playing in the Youngstown area this Friday, May 26 at a place called the Cellar in Struthers OH. www.thecellarrocks.com for details. It's a small, narrow place like Moondogs with the stage just a foot or so off the floor. Tickets are $24. Doors at 7PM, opening act at 8:30, Jukes at 10PM. They have a great casual restaurant on the third floor. This place is close to Boardman and the Jukes played here 5 years ago. It's much closer than their Saturday night show in Cleveland.

Hey everyone, I like seeing all the political banter going back and forth between both parties. I am not sure but we can assume Joey is a Democrat or at least his views are a little to the left. That alone is a good reason to be a Joey fan. Besides the fact that the Houserockers are the best bar band in America, it is also great to be moved by such heartwarming insightful lyrics such as Joe's. Do I like Homestead because it is a great song or because of it's social commentary? I guess both, the song just kicks ass! My advice to the Republicans on this site is-know your audience. If I were to go on Ted Nugent's website I wouldn't post messages about banning the right to bear arms. That's a big if anyway, Ted's a total freak! If you're a Republican and you like Joe's music, that's fine, just realize you're going to disagree with about 90 percent of the fans on this site. So stop disagreeing with the forum and just appreciate Joe's kick ass music. Let's make love not war! Spoken like a true Democrat out in Sin City! PS-I am still waiting patiently for a Vegas show date! LVMattyB

Zeke, I take issue with your list; the inclusion of such songs as "Bad Dream" "End of the Century" and "What Did you Do in the War" and the political overtones inherent in them are offensive. This just smacks of partisan politics! I'd just like to take this opportunity to remind all that this is a rock and roll message board and no place to discuss your politics.
