JOE & BRUCE, TOGETHER AGAIN ON A GOOD LIFE
"Code of Silence" duet is the song's first studio recording

As he did on American Babylon and Coming Home, Bruce Springsteen picthes in on his friend Joe Grushecky's latest, A Good Life. "Code of Silence," a song they wrote together (and that Bruce debuted with the E Street Band on the reunion tour) is the lead-off track, with back-and-forth vocals from Bruce and Joe (Bruce rips the guitar solo, too). A Grammy-winning live recording appeared on The Essential Bruce Springsteen, but this is the first studio treatment of the song. Springsteen guests on three more tracks: the title song, "Is She the One," and "Searching for My Soul." Also featuring "Lake Pontchartrain," Joe's reponse to Katrina, the album is due on August 15.

Tom Waits Set For Rare U.S. Tour

July 05, 2006, 1:10 PM ET

Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.
Iconic singer/songwriter Tom Waits will hit the road in August for a rare string of live performances. The eight-date tour will take Waits to some cities he hasn't played in three decades. The details of the artist's touring band are still being worked out, according to a spokesperson.

"We need to go to Tennessee to pick up some fireworks, and someone owes me money in Kentucky," Waits said in a statement about his motivation for touring.

Waits played a handful of shows in 2004 but prior to that had not toured widely since 1999, in support of his album "Mule Variations."

And while there's no word of a new album from Waits, Anti- Records is at work on a long-awaited boxed set. No release date has been nailed down, according to the artist's rep.

Waits will also be seen in two dramas set for theatrical release next year: "The Good Heart" alongside Ryan Gosling and "Texas Lullaby" with John Malkovich and Josh Hartnett, which is loosely based on William Shakespeare's "Hamlet."

Here are Tom Waits' tour dates:

Aug. 1: Atlanta (Tabernacle)
Aug. 2: Asheville, N.C. (Thomas Wolfe Auditorium)
Aug. 4: Memphis (Orpheum Theatre)
Aug. 5: Nashville (Ryman Auditorium)
Aug. 7: Louisville (Palace Theatre)
Aug. 9: Chicago (Auditorium Theatre)
Aug. 11: Detroit (Opera House)
Aug. 13: Akron, Ohio (Civic Theatre)

Hey all,
It is crazy hot out here in the desert and school is still in session! We go year round out here. My favorite Houserocker song to dance to is "Junior's Bar". This was way back before I met my lovely wife from Hampton Pa (yeah, for some reason she followed me out here). That was the best song to down a whole beer and chase the ladies around the dance floor. If you got dissed you could just sing out "looks like I'm alone again tonight"! Oh glory days, they passed me by in the wink of a young girl's eye! It was a fun time but I love my life now more than ever!
See ya,

Yes! A confirmed date for the Serb Club picnic. At this very moment, Jim Sinclair is figuring out which outfit he will wear for the show. And Dave is deciding which gutter he'll sleep in that evening.
On a serious note, Joe.....Are the Knobs playing as well?

Bill will be missed!

Welcome Danny! It will be cool to see what your style will bring to both the newer and older songs.

Speaking of the older songs Danny (and everyone else) can you play “This Time The Night (Wont Save Us)”. This is a under appreciated underplayed gem from the House Rocker past. In fact IMHO there are many great songs on the final 2 ICH albums that are ignored.

Here’s list of overlooked songs from that era.
