Yeah I did. Joe was very loose like a chat at the bar loose. He laid out some great sounds and lots of news. First he explained why the cd wasn't at the store when I went to pick it up. It will be on the website this week and in stores by Labor day. Joe called the cd his most "accessible, there's something for everyone to like." He also mentioned some special plans to promote the cd with a "tour" of an altered line-up (I musicians were always somewhat altered) some of the guys on the cd like Rick playing with him. Had to laugh about the "big organ" part. Can't wait to put my hands on this disc. Also I was looking through the web and found a review of True Companion. I thought it was great till I realized someone had clipped MY REVIEW from Amazon.com for their website. a lawsuit is in the works

Anybody catch Joe on the radio this morning? He sounded great. They played "Code" and talked to Joe for 10 or 15 minutes. Joe sounded really relaxed and seemed to enjoy himself.

Hey Everyone!! Thanks for the great support you've shown "Code of Silence." Not only did WYEP add it to its playlist last week, but it was also the second most played song on WDVE. Keep those requests coming. The Houserockers will be back in action on SATURDAY night at the BAJA BAR outdoors at the Fox Chapel Yacht Club. Bring the family out to the SERBIAN CLUB in Biddle on SUNDAY. The good people there really need your support. Music starts at 4pm with special guests The KNOBS. "A GOOD LIFE" comes out this week, although it won't be in stores until SEPT 5 due to some last minute delays beyond our control. We plan to get some new downloads on the site. Check out the acoustic show from Asbury Park. Mucho thanks to Katherine and Shel for the posting. See you this weekend.

Hey, I don't think anyone's mentioned it yet, so let me give big kudos to our web guy Shel for that really sharp new "front page" to Joe's web site. Very clean and classic looking -- and very easy to navigate. Excellent work!

Hey Joe G. fan -- thanks for that link to that 50 Songs list. I was just as interested in the other artists that this guy likes -- sure, Bruce was on there, but that list had loads of Americana/roots rock artists, like Joe Ely, Steve Earle, Alejandro Escovedo, etc. I wouldn't be a cranky old teacher if I didn't repeat myself endlessly, so I'l say it again: these guys are Joe's real peers: 40- and 50-something roots rockers who won't ever sell a million records, but who do get written up in the roots music magazine No Depression, and who have briefly ventured outside their local bases to play the big roots music festivals like the Austin City Limits fest, Twangfest in St. Louis, and the American Music Fest in Chicago. I think it's awesome that the guys are going to be playing the Johnstown Folk Fest in September -- definitely a step in the right direction, marketing-wise. It irks me when some foolish people write off Joe as just Bruce's pet project, when Joe obviously has so much more going on than that. Sure, Joe's music doesn't "twang" (although I remember hearing a tape from a New Jersey show where a female musician added a fiddle -- or was it mandolin -- to one of the End of the Century songs, and it sounded awesome ... and possibly worth exploring further??). But I digress -- blues-based rock is most definitely roots music, and Joe could quite conceivably find a niche in this genre. And, as this 50 Songs list seems to have shown, getting Joe's name out there among the nation's top roots rockers really seems like one of the most likely ways to get Joe some of the recognition, and sales, he deserves from fans all across the country.
