Hi Everyone. I hope you had a great summer! I hate to see it end, but I am extremely excited about the release of my new cd “A GOOD LIFE.” This is Joe Grushecky music that you have to have. The response of radio here in Pittsburgh has been beyond our expectations. Order now and get your copy before Labor Day. Johnny G says that this is my best cd ever. It jumps right out at you on the first track. A version of “Code of Silence” that features my good friend, Bruce Springsteen, on vocals and lead guitar is the first tune out of the box. Bruce won a Grammy on this song that we co-wrote for Best Solo Rock Performance in 2004. He is featured on 3 other songs, “A Good Life,” “Searching For My Soul,” and a track with Johnny playing drums called “ Is She The One.” “Safe at Home” is a nine minute epic featuring extended guitar solos by the great Rick Witkowski and yours truly. “Beauty Fades,” “Father and Son,” and “The Other Shoe” just might be the the best ballads I’ve ever written. A personal favorite of mine that I wrote for my daughter Desiree is “Don’t Forget Where You’re Coming From.” It’s a song about the importance of the ones you love and keeping your head on straight in spite of all the rough spots this world throws at us. “Party Tonight” is a song about cutting loose after a hard week of work. “I’m tired of serious. Let’s get delirious just like we used to do.” That about sums it up. There’s a swamp feel to “It Was Too Hot To Think,” a song about lust, danger, and the stupidity of a man old enough to know better. “I Was Nothing Without You” is a straight ahead rocker with a Stonesy country twang. The cd closes with a bonus track, “Lake Pontchartrain” which was my response to the disaster in New Orleans. Please feel free to write your comments on our guest book or contact me at [email protected]. I try to respond to all emails. See you all down the road apiece. Peace, Love ,Soul, Rock and Roll. Joe Grushecky
