Notes
- Once again the band played as a 6 piece with no Marc
- In the middle of Dirty Water, Joe pulled a harmonica out of his pocket, slung his guitar behind his back, and unleashed a blistering solo. I don't recall him doing that when Marc wasn't there but could be wrong.
- Lucky Man did not feature Are You Ready. Instead they played the first verse of My Girl not just the guitar
- Willie Nile was quite energetic.
- Heaven... hit number 16 on the billboard charts in 1991.
- Willie Nile is a great artist with a very interesting back story. Check out

ignore their review of Places. they're snobs about pop.
- Joe (as well as Jill Simmons) sat in with Willie at his afternoon performance.
- A Good Life was the first full band performance that I know of.

A very rowdy crowd, like last year.

Next up A Good Life CD release party.

for entire audience for being such a good audience

A great setting for a show. Artsy fartsy stuff with good (but expenxive food). Joe told a LOT of stories, almost every song got a long explanation and the audience (which included a ton of kids) listened carefully and seemed very excited. The line for cd's and autographs afterwards was solid for about a half an hour.

Heroes was shouted out from the crowd. Joe made it to to the end of the first chorus and stopped. He started laughing and tried to plead out of doing but the crowd encouraged him to finish which he did.

Too Hot (which I beleive was a world premeire) was really good. Stripped down with Joe growling the words, it was even more sinister. Joe cautioned the kids in the audience to avoid that kind of love!!!!

Of course Zac said afterwards that this was his favorite song. Hooker songs speak to second graders, forget power rangers, spiderman et al. Give them prostitutes, I say.

Joe Grushecky's new cd "A Good LIfe" was mentioned in the NY Daily News on Sept. 3 as a "Choice Cult Act". Very impressive being listed as #2. The mention was on Sept. 3, page 3 . The NY Daily News is one of the 3rd most read newspapers in the country.

For those who experienced problems with disc 1 of the Outtakes and Demos set when you load it into your computer, the problem is not the CD.

The various media player applications utiliize a data base from an outside content provider to identify the information and music on the disc you insert.

Real Player, i-Tunes, Musicmatch and Dell Media Player use the Gracenote service. Most of the Gracenote database is supplied by users. Until yesterday, the disc 1 info was wrong, listing the songs from disc 2. It should be working fine now.

If you use Windows Media Player or another application using the Muze database. Never mind:) Muze has had the correct info all along.

Back to our regularly scheduled programming of all "A Good Life" all the time.

It's a release party not listening J&K.; There prolly will be an opening act though which pushes Joe back at least an hour or so. I'm sure it will be posted when it is confirmed.

Is the CD release party (at the Hardrock on 8/22) an actual performance by Joe and the band? (As opposed to a CD listening party). If so, will it be a full night of music by the band? Any details would be extremely helpful Thanks.
