Never thought anything was ever wrong about mixing politics and music. Hell, it's been going on for decades. I find AGL very much about life and family, but Joe seems very pissed off at the current administration. Particularly in "Searching for my Soul", and "Safe at Home"

Hey JG fan, I guess your putting those retired Generals in the same category as Michael Moore. Cmon!!!! You right wingers always try to lump all democrats in with the left wing idiots. That isnt the case here! This is serious business and its really going to screw up this country.

Hey dc - I'd say Joe is more than just "some guitar player".

"For the most part to me, this cd is about rocking it out with themes of adulthood in your 50's and that's pretty good on the surface unless you need to corrupt it."
And I won't bash you for your interpretation-it's a good one, but why do people jump on others for recognizing the obvious political commentary? To each his own I say.
And isn't war, politics, and concern for our kid's safety all "themes of adulthood" as you say?

The new cd is good but I prefer Old Man Bar and Juniors Bar. I could care less about some guitar players politics. Just have a good time and get out alive but never trust the artist.

So what i've gathered is that this album is not about people jumping out of the towers and plunging to their deaths or people who strap bombs onto their kids to commit sucide and kill as many as possible or schools in the middle east that have been preaching hate and anti-american rhetoric for 25 years or muslims who will kill their own fellow countrymen to get attention or a leader of Iran who thinks Israel should be wiped off of the map and exterminated. You can blame the president for everything here on this board and for the most part no one will challenge you because that's what Joe's music is ALWAYS about. Or at least some, want it to be about. I don't hear it but i guess i'm not as enlightened as most. For the most part, both political parties make me throw up but hell, why not pick a team and run with it. The truth be told is their is some undercurrent of political perspective on the disc--but anybody who thinks it's the focus is only wanting it to be that way. Hey Spike Lee thinks Bush blew up levy after levy on purpose because he wanted to kill all of the poor blacks in New Orleans. I thank God that at least i live "in a once great country according to someone on here" where i don't have to believe every scripted talking point from the high heavens of Michael Moore, Move On.org and Nancy Pelosi. Bush has made some critical errors but where's your alternative--Mr. Ketchup with compound in western Pa.? For the most part to me, this cd is about rocking it out with themes of adulthood in your 50's and that's pretty good on the surface unless you need to corrupt it.
