Viva Las Vegas, Baby. Hot, Hot, Hot. And did I mention it was 111 degrees at the Valley of Fire and Lake Mead on Saturday. Great fun, great friends, great food, and four great nights of rock n roll. The music told the story of Vegas nothing was FAKE it was the REAL DEAL THOU every time I hear Brown Eyed Girl I will have to laugh!!! What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. I see a Bruce Springsteen tour is in the works. Maybe we can get a Joey / Bruce Vegas two for in the fall. Vegas where dreams come true. Have fun.

Joe & the boys rocked the house in Vegas Saturday night ! Yes, Joe had to contend with Bridezilla. Joe stayed focused on the music as the true professional that he is. He didn’t let zilla stop the music. I think we all expected security to bring her down off the stage, but they were nowhere in sight. She finally left the stage, but 10 min. or so later she got back up there. I went to the stage and coaxed her down. I wasn’t going to let bridezilla mess with our boys a second time. It was nice to meet up with Matty, Rob, and the gang. And I was lucky enough to run into Joe at the hotel. Bonus ! Again thanks for playing my song, “Junior’s Bar”. It has been my favorite for some 30 years now. That really made my night. I have pics from Saturday night as well as the Altoona show on my website. Check them out. www.JoeMayoPhoto.com Joe’s Site administrator please contact me for the pics.

Sorry my bad on the ZZ top tune. The Houserockers also played Code of Silence that I missed too on Saturday night. I will work on those mistakes for the next time the Houserockers come out West. Here is some additional info that might make your Monday a little more bearable. NEW ALBUM: MAGIC Springsteen back with E Street Band for Oct. 2 release It's official. Springsteen's first album with the E Street Band since 2002's The Rising drops in less than seven weeks, and it's called Magic. In case that title makes you, like us, think of Doug Henning... check the Mark Seliger photo at right for a first peek at Bruce's 2007 look (click on it for a larger version). No rainbows or unicorns to be found. (And that guitar... that's magic.) According to manager Jon Landau, quoted in today's press release from Shore Fire Media, this one's a rocker: "Magic is a high energy rock CD. It's light on its feet, incredibly well played by Bruce and the members of the E Street Band, and, as always, has plenty to say. It's also immensely entertaining. Magic is the third collaboration between Bruce and Brendan O'Brien and is a culmination of their very productive creative relationship." O'Brien produced and mixed the album at his home base in Atlanta, Southern Tracks Recording Studio. Ready for 11 new Springsteen song titles? 1. Radio Nowhere 2. You'll Be Comin' Down 3. Livin' in the Future 4. Your Own Worst Enemy 5. Gypsy Biker 6. Girls in Their Summer Clothes 7. I'll Work for Your Love 8. Magic 9. Last to Die 10. Long Walk Home 11. Devil's Arcade Of these, only "Long Walk Home" has been heard before; Springsteen debuted the song with the Sessions Band and played it live exactly once, in London on November 11, 2006 (reportedly the day after he wrote it). Today's press release makes no mention of a tour, but we do expect a full-scale E Street Band tour to coincide with the album's release. Watch this space in the coming weeks -- and/or sign up for our mailing list below -- for details as soon as a tour is announced. -August 16, 2007

If you guys could have seen Matty B.'s eyes shaking to stay awake at 2:30am! Matty put in all he had to come out and support Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers for 4 straight Las Vegas nights! The band was tight and rolled with a couple of surprises and one noticeable speed bump; namely a very drunk bride to be celebrating her bachelorette party. At one point early in the night she got up on stage (Taking Care of Business?) and sang along with Joe. Out came a small white dildo, supplied by her entourage, which she used to simulate a number of graphic acts. Joe remained calm and cool and was able to finish off the song. She was a bitter drunk and later moved off the dance floor after a bit of scene so we could all rock out and enjoy ourselves. Great work Joe! Great work Houserockers! Great work Matty B!
