Hank I always love how Joe rhymed "destination" and "temptation." Great call. I also dig the original ICHR version of that tune alot.

Another great one...

"I heard that market crashing, well that's alright with me. If you take away their money, you just might set them free...I said God! Can you hear my plea??"
From "How Long" off the Rock and Real album.

Ok, my moniker from another board is being mentioned so here goes.

i love it when you can pay homage to other musicians...

We used to lie in bed all day
And plot our destination
And talk about why you like the miracles
And I dug the temptations

I ALWAYS LOVED THAT.

Pittsburgh Personified! I should have just copied the whole damn song!

It was more than a job it was my family
I got married, settled down, bought a home
And in the bars down the street, in the late summer heat
You never had to feel alone

I got work tearin' those old mills down
Until there's nothing left but the sweat and blood in the ground
At night we tuck our little babies in bed
We still pray to the red, white and blue in Homestead
I'm still livin' in Homestead

Let's hear it for Nevada Day and a 3 day weekend for teachers!

Heartfelt best wishes for success to Bob Benjamin, who will be undergoing experimental surgery in NYC tomorrow to ease, relieve and control the debilitating symptoms brought on by the still incurable Parkinson's Disease.
Within the next few days further information about his health and success of his recovery, as well as the nature of his surgery will be posted on his organizational web sight: http://lightofday.org/. Information about where to send cards and well wishes will also be made available.

Light Of Day 7 will be held this year in Asbury Park as usual, but will
be delayed a month from it's traditional early November weekend to
allow Bob a full recovery and a return to business as usual. (I fully
expect him to be dancing for those performances as brilliantly as he
sings.... :-) ) Details on L.O.D.7 will also soon be available.

Please remember that there exists no cure for Parkinson's. Your financial support is still needed to find one. Bob's operation is one small step in a new generation of recent breakthrough treatments through surgery to help control and relieve the worse symptoms of the disease that affect the nervous system. No treatment is yet guaranteed
successful nor proven permanent. Your help and contributions to this research provides the hope that one day, one may be found. The best recovery gift you can personally send to Bob is not in the shape of flowers or candy, but in a donation to the cause for the cure.

All thoughts are with you Bob, you're gonna get there. It's just around
the corner .......

Please feel free to cross post this information throughout this community to any and all other Springsteen newsgroups and Internet fan sights anyone here may be affiliated with.

First and foremost, we're sending prayers and best wishes out to Bob Benjamin.

Second, great idea for a thread, NJ fan, and welcome aboard. This old Houerocker used to hit the bars reminding himself to "have a good time, but get out alive." But now I find even more resonance in "Can't you see? They leave their fingerprints on me."

As you all know Bob Benjamin is Joe & The Houserockers manager, and is fighting a terrible disease. Please keep him in your prayers tonight because he is having surgery tomorrow. He will greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Played at PNC park. Great moment.

She was a check out girl working nine to five at the five and dime.
She's overweight, out of fashion and out of time.
Oh Angela The stars are shining bright
Oh Angela we're going to shoot them out tonight

I never knew that tune went further back than Chuck. Thanks Johnny Mars! The Stones version definitely swings! It was my favorite, but I gotta say I am partial to Joe's version on the live record of the same name. I also like the Houserocker version of "Wild Horses" that I heard several times this year....Beats the way the Stones are playing it these days. (But nobody can touch the Stones on "Gimme Shelter"!!)
