WYEP is playing "Nothing Without You" quite a bit....Good Choice of Tunes!

Well Keith, since you spilled the beans already about my Loverboy and Night Ranger record collection, that takes care of most of the skeletons in my closet so those nasty Republicans won't be able to dredge up any more dirt. As far as campaign songs, I kinda think Turn It Up is a nice, optimistic little song about hope and perseverance, and would fit in quite nicely with my message to inspire others to reach for the American dream. Or the bottle.
Either that, or "Bad Dream" which will certainly call to mind the past 8 yrs with our so-called "leader."
Keith let me know when you have my speech ready.

Count me in as a "Mark for Prez" backer.
Providing he has Larimer Dave as his VP, and "I can't Take it" as their campaign song.

Mark –

I have to take issue with your “thinly veiled” statement!

Nonetheless, I'll be writing-you-in next week as my candidate for the PA Senate seat currently occupied by Rick Santorum! (Your first step toward the Presidency!). I will be drawing on a selection of songs from Loverboy, Kansas, REO, and Cheap Trick, Night Ranger, Heart, and Huey Lewis & The News as thematic backdrop for your attack adds!

“Carry On My Wayward Son, There’ll be peace when you are done”

Agreed Frankie! While Larimer Dave gets jumped on, he makes a valid point, as does Matty B. I like the Clash and appreciate what they did. I can certainly understand, though, the viewpoint of someone who raises the questions Dave does....Let's be honest, lots of people sing the praises of a band like the Clash; I bet of those individuals, very few of them can actually single out more than one or two songs by name. It's a fact, and you are right Frankie, publications like RS mag help build the myths. Which is one of the cool things about rock and roll. But in the end, if someone wants to say a band sucks, that's fine. If I happen to like that band, their comments in no way diminish the enjoyment I get from the music.
Now let's get back on topic and discuss why A Good Life is really Joe's thinly veiled attack at the Bush administration and their inept handling of the Katrina disaster, the war in Iraq, and traffic problems in Pittsburgh.

I have to say that The Clash is a band that you’re “supposed” to like. Many Clash fans that I know like the pretense of the band, or “what they stand for,” not really the music they produced. They were hyped quite well, and the hype was followed by myth. Once a myth is reinforced by the Rolling Stone, and others hopping on the bus, people get attacked for stating a belief other that conservative thought. Sure they had some decent songs, and I do like the Clash for what they are, but we need to endure others’ opinions…

I cannot back a proposal like that. Limiting anyone's right to free speech goes against my liberal beliefs.

Bigger Bum than Matt
I think we should get a petition blocking all of Larimer Dave's Posts.
Anyone else in?

Hey Matt Harrison, I really like REO speedwagon. Just a good rock band having fun. People on here are always trying to build 3 chord rock bands up like some kind of innovative breakthru's in music . You need to wake up you bum
