"Coming Home Again", legendary singer-songwriter Elliott Murphy's 29th album, is an incredible album from one of the world’s most underappreciated artists. His lyrics are on par with the best of Dylan, Springsteen, and Grushecky! Joe opened for him a number of times at The Bottom Line in NYC.
“Revival”, John Fogerty’s recent release is some of his best work in 20 years!
“Washington Square Serenade” by Steve Earle is full of some great political and blue-collar rockers.
If you were ever into Kansas, vocalist and keyboard player Steve Walsh has two new songs available on iTunes that hearken back to the glory days of the late 70’s.
Finally, check out anything by the Tragically Hip – you will not be disappointed. If you are new to the Hip (incredibly successful Canadian band that has been putting out albums for over 20 years – sort of a hybrid between REM and Dylan!) check out the following singles: “Fully Completely”; “Fireworks”; “In View”; “Poets”; “Escape Is At Hand For The Travellin’ Man”; “Bobcageon”; and “Fire In The Hole”. BTW – If you ever have the chance to see The Hip in concert, you will NEVER see a better live performance!

It's been way too quiet on here. What's going on? Where's the LOD buzz, The upcoming Documentary release, the Sellersville show? What about the Bruce interview on 60 min? Personally I think that whatever his name was did a lame interview. And what about...I hate to bring this up because I hate politics...especially on here, but what about the idiotic things Hilary says? First she stated that when she's president she'll bring our troops home by 2009. Recently she said that she won't put a timetable on it. What???
So, what's in your iPod? I'm listening to the new Robben Ford disc Truth and I found some old Robben Ford stuff when he was with Miles Davis. The new KT Tunstall record is great and I downloaded some stuff by our good friend in Jersey Jesse Malin. He's a great songwriter. The new Joe Bonamassa disc is killer. He grows with each disc. His playing and tone is always happening but on this disc his vocals and songwriting show maturity.
By the way. My dear friend and awesome drummer, Sonny Pugar died in 2004. Each year Tony Janflone Jr hosts a benefit to support Music Education. This year it's at the Royal Place on Thursday Oct 18. I'll be performing with Shari Richards and the Tony Janflone Band. Other artists include No Bad Ju Ju, Sputzy, Margo B. and Omega Love among others. It'll be a great night of incredible music in memory of a dear dear friend.
