Wednesday, July 22nd, 1998 - Chesterfield Cafe, Madrid, Spain. Day 1. Joey G, Bill, Art & I are playing as a 4-piece in support of our "Coming Home" CD. I was really surprised to see how many people already had it and all the other CDs! We signed a lot of CDs, T-shirts, and all kinds of pictures. Our show started out acoustic for 45 minutes to an hour. We played "Hell of a Life", "In our Little Room", "When the Crows Go Crazy", "1945", and "Soul Survivor".

Then we'd go full-out electric mode playing "No Strings Attached', "Talking to the King", "Have a Good Time", and "Touch the Rain"...Even the people who's English was worse than our Spanish knew the words to the song "Brown-eyed Girl" and it became a fun song because we'd stop playing and they would sing the chorus. And they sang very well. That became a fun song again.

As well as "I Hear You Knocking", which Joey G made into a fun song. The club owner requested this song every night, and Joe made it very entertaining.. I think I'd rather keep "Brown-Eyed Girl" just for the Europe Tours.

Friday, July 24th, 1998 - Chesterfield Cafe, Madrid, Spain. Day 3. Today Joe wrote a new song called "Spanish Blood". A song very much immersed in the style of music we've been listening to. For drummers it's got a great samba feel. Maybe I'll have to get out my Santana, Chick Corea, Al Jarreau, Tito Puente albums. It's a great song. I can't wait to hear what Bernie adds to that song percussion-wise!

Tuesday, July 28th, 1998 - Tombstone Club, Terrassa, Spain - Day 7. One of my all-time favorite gigs in my 14 year tenure with the Houserockers. And this second time was as fun as the first. A very up-tempo crowd, with Anna Alanso down front. Anna's our #1 fan in Europe - Maria's counterpart.

The crowd started the Spanish Soccer Chant, especially when I started playing "Light of Day". We played 2 hours, 25 minutes straight. I needed a break bad! It was my favorite show of the tour.

The band and I had a great time in Spain, and can't wait to get back as soon as possible! Thanks to all the great fans who showed up at the gigs, and keep on rockin'!
